Lisa Larsonはスウェーデン陶芸学校卒業後、1954年Gustavsberg社へ入社。1979年までの約20年間にわたりGustavsberg社の専属デザイナーとして活躍する。やさしくかわいいコケティッシュな動物や家族の愛情、素朴で温かみのある表現豊かな表情のフィギュアを製作する。Gustavsberg社ではLisa Larsonと同時期にStig Lindbergも在籍している。Stig LindbergやKarin Bjorquistらと並びGustavsbergを代表する作家となる。1979年に同社を退社しフリーランスとして活躍する。60-70年代は積極的に個展や展覧会を催し海外でも作品の展示を行う。一部コレクターの間ではライオンやブルドッグなど大変な人気を得ていましたが最近手頃な価格でフィギュアが復刻されたこともあり若い人達の間で人気が復活する。Lisa LarsonはスウェーデンだけでなくStig　Lindbergの影響もありアメリカや日本でもコレクターが急増中している。90年代に再びGustavsberg社に工房を持ち現在も現役で活躍中
