Erik Hoglundは1932年生まれ。スウェーデンを代表する彫刻家、グラスアーティストとして活躍する。1953年にBoda社にデザイナーとして入社。人間や動物をモチーフにしたりガラスの歪みや気泡をデザインとして取り入れ素朴な人間味溢れる個性的な作品を数多く残す。Bodaでのそれらの作品が評価され1957年にHermann Bongardと共にLUNNING PRIZEを獲得。73年にBodaを退社後もworkshopを設け活動を続ける。当時のTapio WirrkalaやTimo Sarpanevaなどの精密な洗練されたデザインとは対照的に時代の流れに反抗するかのごとく手の温もりが感じられるような独自のデザインを残す。1998年没
